Zebedee Catchings Jr.

Zebedee Catchings Jr. was born September 15, 1942, in Hazelhurst, Mississippi to the late Zebedee Catchings Sr., and Precious (Gilmore) Catchings.

Mr. Catchings graduated from Isaac C. Elston High School class of 1960. On October 20, 1996, in Michigan City, he married Janet Johnson-Perry.

He retired in 2010 from the City of Milwaukee Health Department as an Administrative Clerk. Zeb was a member of Christ Temple Apostolic Ministries, he worked with the Men’s Auxiliary. He enjoyed basketball, and football. Zeb took great pride in being fit; he was an avid jogger.

Zebedee Catchings Jr. departed this life on Friday, August 19, 2022, at Franciscan Health of Michigan City, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, and stepdaughter, Leslie Cash.

Zeb leaves to mourn and cherish his memories, his wife, Janet Catchings, Michigan City, Indiana; children, Anthony Catchings, Truwinia “Trudy” (Ricky Fussell) Catchings, Terrance Catchings, ,
Timothy (Charlene) Catchings and stepson, Jesse Cash of Michigan City, Indiana; special grandson, Briene Henderson of Michigan City, Indiana, special cousins, Hazel McNeal of Michigan City, Indiana and Patricia Bell of Chicago, Illinois; sisters-in-law, Doris Payne of Tampa, Florida and Karen (Wayne) Howell of Dublin, Georgia; special friends, Mother Bobbie Lindsey, Carolyn Howell, Louise Mock, Fran Metcalf, Anita “Tina” Geyer, Johnny McMillan, Mr. and Mrs. Tyrone Perteet all of Michigan City, Indiana; and a host of grandchildren and cousins.

Funeral services will be 11am, Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Emmanuel Funeral Home-Trail Creek with Bishop Bennett to give the eulogy. Viewing will be 10am, Saturday until the time of service.
