Veronica Irvin Obituary

Veronica Irvin affectionately known as “Ronnie” was born July 5, 1952, in Michigan City, Indiana to Eddie Lee and Lovie Nixon.

On December 17, 1988, in Michigan City, Indiana she married the love of her life, Alfred Phillip Irvin who preceded her in death on November 21, 2015.

She was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Allen Briggs Sr., where she sang in the choir, and she was a member of “The Singing Angels & The Flying Eagles” singing group for 20 years.

Ronnie enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family.

Veronica Irvin accepted her call to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, October 6, 2021. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Eddie Lee, and Lovie Nixon; stepmother, Betty Nixon; grandparents, Annie, and Clarence Nixon; three sisters, Barbara White, Jacqueline Hood, and Tina Perry; one brother, Standford OZ Garner; one son, Vincent Deal; special aunt, Clara Sparkman; two uncles and two aunts; one special friend, Geonard Priscilla Morris.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Tracy (Mark) Harris of Michigan City, Indiana, Tyrone L. (Angela Moore) Deal of Rockford, Illinois, Ieshenia (Dennis White) Hervey and Miss Tameka Walker both of Michigan City, Indiana; siblings, Kevin Ann Cooper, Norma (Jerry) Anderson, Ora (Earl) Robinson, Valerie Nixon, Susie (Melvin) Williams, Eddie Lee Nixon Jr., Dennis Nixon all of Michigan City, Indiana, Michael Davis of California, and Tallie Nixon of Indianapolis; thirteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; special son, Fazon Nixon; special nephew and niece, Terrence and Stefanie Ellis; special friend, Teresa McMillion; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Ronnie will be sorely missed by all that knew her.

The Celebration of Life will be noon Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Allen Briggs to give the eulogy. Burial will take place at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Viewing will be 11am Saturday, October 16, 2021 at the church until the time of service.
