Tyrone George Sr., was born on August 7, 1969, in Michigan City, Indiana, to Diane Marie George and Calvin George Sr., Tyrone was a man who lived by his own rules, always speaking his mind and finding solutions where others saw obstacles. His journey came full circle as he passed away in his hometown of Michigan City on August 15, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of strength and candor.
Tyrone's early years were shaped by the love and guidance of his parents. His mother's passing left an indelible mark on him, but he carried her teachings and love throughout his life. He also faced the profound loss of his sister, Therese M. George, and his brothers, Calvin "Pep" George Jr. and Austin "Augie" D. George Sr., as well as his cherished nephews, Trelon L. George and Calvin A. George.
Tyrone's legacy is carried on by his beloved family members. His father, Calvin George Sr., remains in Michigan City, a testament to the strong family roots that Tyrone held dear. Tyrone's wife, Evelyn Duncan, was his partner in every sense, sharing the joys and challenges of life together in their Michigan City home. His sons, Tyrone George Jr. of Chicago, Terrell and Tyrrell George of Atlanta, and his "only girl," Alexanderia George of Columbus, were the pride of his life.
In addition to his immediate family, Tyrone's nurturing spirit extended to his special nephews, Jaylon T. George of Michigan City and Austin George Jr. of La Porte, and his special niece, Vanity Lane of Virginia. He was a mentor and a friend, always ready with advice or a helping hand, and his influence on their lives was immeasurable.
Tyrone was a man of many facets. He was known for his straightforward approach, never shying away from the truth, and his ability to "make a way out of no way" was legendary. His humor, wisdom, and unwavering honesty made him a respected figure in his community. Friends, family, and acquaintances knew that a conversation with Tyrone would be genuine and from the heart.
Tyrone C. George Sr. will be deeply missed, but the lessons he taught us and the love he gave us will never be forgotten.
