Sandra K. Reynolds gained her wings on Thursday, May 13, 2021.
Viewing will be Wednesday, May 19, 2021 from 3:00pm to 4:30pm CST at Emmanuel Funeral Home. Burial will take place at noon EST on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Crystal Springs Cemetery 1655 East Napier Street, Benton Harbor, Michigan.
Sandra Kay Reynolds made her entrance into the world on August 5th 1949. She was born at Mercy Hospital in Benton Harbor, Michigan to the union of Bernice (Starkey) and Oscar L. Reynolds Sr.
Sandra confessed her hope in Jesus Christ and was baptized under the leadership of Pastor Dan Miller. In 1974 Sandra was blessed with her only son, Ryan Neal Reynolds Sr. He was the joy of her life.
Sandra was educated in the Benton Harbor school system and graduated high school in 1967. After graduating she obtained her Associates degree from Lake Michigan College and completed her education at Eastern Michigan University, with a degree in Early Childhood Education.
Sandra was a devoted daughter and was dedicated to caring for her mother and stepfather, Lewis Seawood. She worked tirelessly alongside her loving parents at the former Sandy’s Restaurant known for their famous hot tamales. Mr. Seawood loved and raised Sandy from infancy and he named the family restaurant after her.
Sandra went on to achieve many of her goals. She was passionate about working with families and children. She taught preschool for Tri-County Head Start and Spinks Corners for the majority of her profession and finalized her career at Benton Harbor Charter Schools.
Sandra leaves in God’s care to cherish her memory, her son, Ryan Sr. (Brandy) Reynolds of Michigan City, IN; six grandchildren; Ryan Jr., Brandon, Adriann, Alexis, Autumn, and Angela, and her great grandchildren; Bryce, Aiden, and Trinity; She also leaves behind her long time partner of 20 years, Lawrence Lilly, who cherished her; Special friend Patty Whitelow and cousins, Linda Seawood and Minnie Sims, and many family and friends; caretaker and friend, Mrs. Vernedta Johnson.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar L. Reynolds, Bernice and Lewis Seawood and brother, Oscar L. Reynolds, II.
