Paul Earl Cain, Sr. was born October 21, 1948, in the small town of West, Mississippi to Albert Lee “AL” Clark and Dorothy Cain Lewis.  He was the youngest of the Three Amigos -  three first cousins raised together as brothers by their grandparents, the late Lemon and Sarah Cain.

Paul attended school in West until his senior year in high school, when he moved to Michigan City, IN and graduated from Elston High School.  In 1969, Paul enlisted in the United States Army and served until he was honorably discharged in 1971.  While serving, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and a Marksman (Rifle) Medal.

In 1985, Paul moved to Georgia, where he successfully completed a program in Air Conditioning Technology from Chattahoochee Technical Institute in 1992.  He was employed by Mayo Chemical Company, in maintenance.

Paul relocated back to Michigan City in 2013 to be closer to his mother, Dorothy Lewis.  They spent many evenings watching sports or westerns; and then, he always found time to play on his keyboard and work in his garden.  He was a real “Johnny Appleseed” dropping seeds anywhere in the backyard and watching them grow into tomatoes, cucumbers, greens, beans, watermelons, peaches, grapes and anything else he could get his hands on.

He leaves to cherish his memories: children:  Paul Earl (Taquisha) Cain, Jr, LaSean Johnson, Ara Johnson, Michael Johnson, Loris Johnson; Mother: Dorothy Lewis; Special friend and significant other: Shirley Johnson; Brother:  Byron Lewis; Special Cousin, but raised as brother: Sheldon Cain; Sister-in-law: Iva Cain; Special cousin: Elder John (Gerry) Jones; Grandchildren: Infinity, Decamry, Kyiriona, Damien, Jabriel and Deborah, Laniyah Johnson, Kyson Davis, Jayva Davis, Micole O’dell, Sydney Washington, Chase Washington, Ariel Johnson, Ara Johnson Jr., Amari Johnson, Aamir Johnson, Miah Johnson, Micheal Johnson Jr., Malachai Johnson, Legend Johnson; great grandchildren, JaNova and JaMicheal; Nieces and Nephews:  Stacy Coleman, Jermaine Cain, Demont (Erica) Cain, Jerome (Alicia) Cain, Gregory Lewis, Carmen Lewis, Geirdon and Jorey; Aunts:  Melvina Hayes, Reola Riley, Etta Cain, Dorothy Mae Cain; Uncles:  Deacon John (Emma) Cain, Lee Earl (Ollie) Cain; close friends: Kevin Gooch, Albert Wiley, Robert Henderson; and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.
