Mrs. Terry Killermann Obituary

Mrs. Terry Louise Killermann, a beacon of optimism and a friend to all who knew her, passed away on March 8, 2024, at Franciscan Health in Michigan City, Indiana.

She was born on January 4, 1953, in Oceanside, California, to the late Robert Eugene Lawler and Margaret Elizabeth Hinde-Lawler.

Terry's infectious smile will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with her.

Terry grew up in the sunny, coastal town of Oceanside, where she attended Oceanside High School, graduating in 1971. Her early years were filled with the love of reading, the joy of gardening, and the simple pleasure of beach outings. These interests were a constant throughout her life, as was her love of laughter and her dedication to her family.

In 1996, Terry's life blossomed further when she married the love of her life, Mark Killermann, in a beautiful ceremony in Los Cabos. Together, they built a life filled with joy, adventure, and an unbreakable bond. Terry was not only a cherished wife but also a loving mother to her son, Nicholas Courson. Her family was her world, and she embraced every moment with them.

Professionally, Terry made her mark as the Owner of Sullivan's Bar and Reilly's Sports Bar & Grill for 12 years. Her establishments were more than just businesses; they were community hubs where friendships were forged, and memories were made. Terry's warmth and hospitality made every guest feel like family, and her sports bars became landmarks in their own right.

Beyond her immediate family, Terry's circle of love included her sister, Tina (David) Wilson, and sister-in-law, Julia, and Kevin Killermann. She was a beloved aunt to many nieces, nephews, and cousins, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Terry's capacity to nurture relationships extended to her special friends, Nikki Schultz and Jill and Bill Reilly, who were like family to her. She also cherished her many friends from her hometown of Oceanside and those she made during her 20 years of living in Kowa.

Terry's life was one of engagement and service, not only to her family and friends but also to the community that she loved. Her friendly demeanor and optimistic outlook were contagious, inspiring others to see the brighter side of life. She was a woman who lived fully, loved deeply, and laughed often.

As we remember Terry, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest—a life rich with love, laughter, and an unwavering spirit of generosity. She was a guiding light for those fortunate enough to know her, and her legacy will continue to shine in the lives of those she touched.

The world is undoubtedly a better place for having had Terry in it. Her story is one of joy, friendship, and an enduring zest for life.
