Mary Walker Obituary

II Timothy 4:7-8, I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness.

Mary Lee Eackles-Walker entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 20th, 2021 at the Aperion Care of Michigan City. Now she stands with the Master wearing her crown of righteousness.

Viewing will be 10am Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church 3007 South Ohio Street. Mary's Celebration of Life will be noon, Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Allen Briggs to give the eulogy. Masks are required to be worn.

Mary Lee was born December 11, 1940 in Lincoln County, Arkansas to the late Jerden Eackles and Lillie Bell Conyer.

Mary professed a Hope in Christ at an early age at Prince of Peace Baptist Church in Fresno, Arkansas under the leadership of Rev. Shaw. She was educated in the public schools of Star County, Arkansas.

Mary moved to Michigan City, Indiana and united in marriage to John Walker, and to this union two children were born, Glenn and Danny Walker. She later united with David Nance, whom preceded her in death.

God has blessed her with one surviving son, Danny (Evelyn) Walker of Michigan City, Indiana; three sisters, Linda Lambert, Gould, Arkansas, Lavonia (Joe) Price of Dallas, Texas and Kathy (Alonzo) Livingston of Gould, Arkansas; four brothers, Sylvester Conyer of Gould, Arkansas, Alfred Eackles, Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Willie (Bettye) Conyer, Prosper, Texas and Lawrence (Edna) Conyer, Pine Bluff, Arkansas; daughter-in-law, Chrystal Eackles of Michigan City, Indiana; three step daughters, Valarie (Thomas) Morris, Jeanette Nance and Pamela Nance; one step son, Michael Nance all from Dyersburg, Tennessee; half sister, Betty Dickes, Michigan City, Indiana. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Donny Ken Eackles, Jason Green Sr., Tiffany (Laymon) Green-Fly, Christopher Walker, Danny Walker Jr., Bohdam Walker, Ryan Lux, Emily Lux, Evan Lux, Ava Lux, Johan Lux and Morris Lux; great grandchildren, Alexis Metcalf-Brown, Michaela Hawthorne, Michael Hawthrone, Jason Green Jr., Javon Green, Donnell Glen Eackles, Da'Ziah Kennedy and December Chanel Eackles and great-great grandchildren, Lashawn Julious and Amir Julious; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her mother and father, Mary Lee is preceded in death by her husband, John Walker and son, Glenn Walker, two sisters, Erma Lee Eackles and Opal Collins, and one brother, Jack Williams.

Mary will always be remembered by her family as kindhearted, fun-loving, giving and courteous person who demonstrated a concern for everyone she encountered.
