Markell JaShon Holmes

Markell JaShon Holmes, 14, departed this life unexpectedly on October 24, 2021 at Franciscan Health of Rensselaer, Indiana.

Walk Through Viewing will be 4pm to 7pm, Friday, November 5th, 2021 at Emmanuel Funeral Home (Trail Creek). Funeral Services will be noon, Saturday, November 6th, 2021 at High Praise Outreach Ministries with Pastor Felicia Blakely to give the eulogy.

Markell JaShon Holmes was born on January 25, 2007, to Marques Holmes and Aqullia Edwards in Indianapolis, Indiana.

He attended Michigan City High School. Markell enjoyed attending the high school football and basketball games. He loved dogs and to play video games.

He leaves to celebrate his memory to his mother, Aqullia Edwards; father, Marques Holmes; siblings, Markayla Holmes, Marshayla Holmes, Marques Holmes, Marquaivon Holmes, Marshawn Holmes, Delvin Davis; grandparents, Lovie (LP) Nixon-Steward, Tony Edwards, Mona (Robert) Watts and David (Dorothy) Williamson; great grandparents, Norma (Chris) Anderson and Delores (Ronnie) Henderson; great-great grandmother, Ethel Williamson; niece, Ny'asia Holmes; nephew, Caine Kyrie Watson; special god-sister, Ariee "Ariana" Copprue; special uncle, Amond "Busta" Nixon; special cousins, Brenton, Caleb and Nicole; Markell had a lot of friends but he had a special crew that he hung out with, Brandon, Vincent, Jayden, Colin, Deon, Jekire, Leto, Saa'mir, Juelz, Tyrone, Dam’on, James, Jae'caprio, Amin, and Damon; special/close friend, Regina; eight special female friends, Takhyia, Trinity, Tinae, Sapheria, Julisa, Kania, Daviana, Jae’lynn and Jamillya; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Ronnie Howell, Thomas and Eula Holmes and great-great grandparents.
