Lenora Washington was born November 7, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Oscar Hall and Bertha (Peterson) Dail.

She attended Chicago Public School and she obtained her diploma in 2009 from Midwest High School.

Lenora was a very active member of Chance Ministries Church, under the leadership of Pastor William L. Martin Sr.  She gave her time and treasures to help enhance the lives of others and especially enjoyed going out and interacting with others in the community.  Lenora always had a positive attitude and never took life for granted.

She was a very fun-loving and energetic person, who enjoyed being with her family. Lenora consistently contributed to and helped organize family events and outings. Her presence always seemed to brighten everyone’s day and filled the atmosphere with joy and laughter.  She loved to dance and showcase her electric slide moves. In her spare time, she loved to read and jump rope.

Lenora worked at United Postal Services and Chicago Metallic for over 20 years. She also worked as a crossing guard.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories: her beloved, daughter, Andrea “Angel” Peterson, Chicago, Illinois; four sisters, Pamela Flowers, Chicago, Illinois, Charlotte Flowers and Julia Flowers, both of Michigan City, Indiana and Demetris (Tyren) Leeks of Portage, Indiana; four brothers, Terry (Nicole) Peterson, Chicago, Illinois, James Flowers, Nick Flowers and Minister Anthony (Felice) Flowers, all of Michigan City, Indiana; god-sister, Cornika; three grandchildren, Lovely Aaliyah Scott, Octavius TaShawn Peterson and Marcus De’Love Thompkins; one great grandchild, Dylan L. Cauves; one special cousin, Belinda Martin; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, maternal and paternal grandparents, her one and only son, Terry Peterson.
