Lee Earl Reid affectionately known to his family as "Mane" was born August 13, 1957 in Michigan City, Indiana to Bennie Ellis and Della Reid.
Mr. Reid attended Central Elementary School and graduated from Elston High School. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. After serving his country, he worked at Josam Co.
He enjoyed drawing, playing cards and the saxophone, shooting pool with his sister, Rosie and fishing with his beloved mother.
Lee Earl Reid, departed this life on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at AMITA Health Alexian Brothers Medical Center of Elk Grove Village, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his father, Bennie Ellis; stepfather, Joe Draper; sisters, Josephine Ellis-Heffner, Rosie Wilson and Jacqueline Wilson; brother, Terry Wilson; nephew Terry Moore.
He leaves to cherish his memories, wife Jean Reid; mother Della Draper; son, Courtney James-Reid; daughter, Alexander Carter-Reid; sisters, Carolyn Moore, and Charlotte (Neil) Singleton; brother, Levi Wilson; three grandchildren; two close cousins, Jerome Anderson and Walter Johnson; two buddies, Steve Richmond and Bobbie Garrett; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Services will be 11:30am, Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Emmanuel Funeral Home (Trail Creek) 3025 East Michigan Blvd with Rev. Thomas Payton to give the eulogy, viewing will be 10:30am at Emmanuel Funeral Home (Trail Creek) 3025 East Michigan Blvd until the time of service. Burial will take place immediately following the services, family and friends may gather at Pleasant Hill Fellowship Hall 715 East 10th Street for the repast.
