LaToya L. Turner-Torrance, affectionately known as Muffy, was born on January 9,1978, in Michigan City, IN, to Faith Jackson-Turner and the late Eugene Turner Jr., and Muffy brought light and warmth into the world.
LaToya was a proud graduate of Michigan City High School, Class of 1996. She later continued her education in college at IUPUI, where she developed the skills and knowledge that would guide her throughout her professional journey. She built a respected career as a Customer Service Manager at SpaceKraft, International Paper, where she was known for her dedication, professionalism, and ability to lead and uplift those around her. Her commitment to excellence left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, LaToya was known for her vibrant spirit and deep love for life. Her favorite color, blue, reflected both her calm strength and the depth of her soul. She was an avid reader who found peace and joy within the pages of a good book. Her love for children was undeniable—she had a special gift for connecting with them, leaving lasting impressions on every young heart she encountered. Though she carried a quiet demeanor, she loved boldly and wholeheartedly, touching countless lives with her kindness, compassion, and authenticity.
LaToya also embraced life through travel. Her work as a trainer with Klipsch Speakers afforded her the opportunity to explore various countries, expanding her worldview and creating cherished memories. Whether traveling for work or leisure, she found joy in experiencing new cultures, places, and people.
On March 16, 2026, at the age of 48, LaToya gained her wings.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Arthur L. Torrance, with whom she shared a beautiful life and an unbreakable bond since their marriage on August 6, 2005; her beloved mother, Faith Jackson-Turner; her siblings Tashia (Zack) Turner-Bailey, Eugene Turner III, Brian Turner, Tierre Turner, and Shaun Turner; her mother-in-love, Cora Stewart; her sisters-in-love Alesia (Willie) Vinson, LaToya Torrance, and Sheila Torrance; and her brother-in-law, David Torrance. She was a deeply loved aunt to her special nephews, Justin and Royal Edwards, and her special nieces, Skylyn Williams, Essence Marshall, and Rieyana Turner. She also leaves behind two special uncles, Albert Edwards Jr. and Joe (Penny) Turner, her beloved dog Bella, and a host of relatives, friends, and associates who will forever hold her memory close.
To know LaToya was to love her. Her presence was a gift, her smile was comforting, and her love was genuine. She lived a life filled with purpose, grace, and joy. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, kindness, and beautiful memories will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
