Kelly J. Morris

Kelly Jo Morris was born on January 13, 1961, in Gary, IN to the union of Marie Jones Morris and Billie Morris, both whom proceeded her in death. Kelly departed this life on Monday, August 23, 2021. She is survived by her only and beloved daughter, Dhani Morris; two grandchildren, Jaidon (Jai) Armahni Morris & India Simone Morris; two brothers, William Andrew Morris, Gary, IN and Mark David Morris, Merrillville, IN; one sister, Tracy Nell Mason, Orlando, FL; a host of relatives; one special friend, Tami Bolton. Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

Kelly attended school in Gary, IN graduating from Roosevelt High School, class of '79. She was known as Bae Bae by many and was very sociable and loved by all that knew her. Kelly was employed at Paladin, Inc., where she has worked the past 8 years. She also worked at the former Parents & Friends, Inc., in one of their group homes, and at Dungarvin. Kelly had a great compassion for the clientele she worked with. She touched the lives of many, both individuals and staff. It will definitely not be the same at work without seeing her smile, hearing her voice, offering to help wherever needed, and the kind words she shared. Kelly will be greatly missed at Paladin, where she was highly regarded for her professionalism, even temperament, and positive attitude. Kelly was chosen as Employee of the Year and attended a conference in Indianapolis, due to the work she had done throughout the years at Paladin. She was recognized and respected by all that she had contact with.  

Outside of work, Kelly enjoyed spending time with the apples of her eye, her daughter (Dhani) and grandson (Jai). Kelly and Dhani weren't just mom and daughter, but best friends. They did everything together and had a relationship that was priceless. Jai was definitely Kelly's heart, her little man. He is going to miss his granny. Kelly did not get a chance to meet India, who was born after her passing on August 30, 2021, but Kelly had a love for her baby girl and was looking forward to her arrival. Kelly also loved listening to music and playing on her tablet.

Viewing will be 10am, Saturday, September 11, 2021 followed by her Celebration of life at 11am, at Emmanuel Funeral Home.
