John D. Spencer

John D. Spencer Sr. passed away on November 2, 2022.

Funeral services will be 11am, Nov. 12, 2022 at Emmanuel Funeral Home 3025 East Michigan Blvd, Trail Creek, Indiana with viewing from 10am until the time of service on Nov. 12, 2022 at Emmanuel Funeral Home 3025 East Michigan Blvd, Trail Creek, Indiana.

John D. Spencer was born April 24, 1966 to the late Jack Sr and Dorothy Spencer in Gary, Indiana.

John attended Gary Community Schools and graduated from Lew Wallace “ El Dub” class of 1984. While attending Lew Wallace, he played basketball and was a phenomenal player. After graduating high school, John enlisted and served in the U.S. Army. He was a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years at various health care facilities. John was passionate about patient care and took great pride in helping the elderly. 

John was a lovable guy whom loved to listen to music and serenade those around. He also enjoyed sports, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. 

To know him, was to love him. He will be missed immensely. John leaves to mourn his wife Crystal Hunt of Michigan City, IN; two sons, John Jr. and Jermaine Spencer both of Oklahoma City, OK; two brothers, Jack Jr. (Gloria) Spencer of Milwaukee, WI and Jerome Spencer of Madison, WI; one sister, Davetta Spencer of Madison, WI and a host of nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
