Jimmie Pearson

Mr. Jimmie Pearson passed away on February 22, 2022 at the Aperion of Michigan City.

Funeral services will be noon, Saturday, March 5, 2022 at New Covenant Outreach Ministries 419 Grant Avenue. Viewing will be 11am Saturday, March 5, 2022 until the time of service.

Mr. Jimmie Lee Pearson was born April 5th, 1957, in Cotton Plant, Arkansas to Marion and Pearlie Mae Stallings.

Jim’s journey has taken him many places along the way, making fond memories each place that he went. Jim reflected on his childhood and talked about being raised by his grandparents, aunts and uncles. He would often talk about their structured, discipline and just good eating. Jim has resided in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Michigan and finally settling Michigan City 40 years ago.

Jim was a dedicated and hard worker, working various jobs over the years such as Michigan City Car Wash for many years and Michigan City Bakery. In his spare time, he also cut grass and washed cars on the side. If you came to visit Jim, you better “go with enough time to get your car wash” because he would not let you leave with a dirty ride. Jim married the love of his life Betty Coats-Pearson on Aug 24th, 2003. They were married 13 years until her passing on February 29, 2016. Jim was a devoted and dedicated caretaker for both his wife, Betty and son, RaShun. He would walk in rain, sleet, or snow if he needed to and he would check anybody in regard to them. He would often say “Ain’t Nobody bout ta play me or whatever.”

 He leaves to cherish his memories, three sons, Cornelius Pearson, Anthony Gavin and Bobby Coats; two brothers, Ray Stallings and Pete Stallings and his Home-Boys Mr. Ollie Collier, Big Will, Leroy and Fred and a host of relatives. Jim will be truly missed by all that knew him.

 Jim was preceded in death by both parents, one sister, Loretta Stallings; one brother, Marion Stallings Jr and son, RaShun Coats.
