Faith Leeks Obituary

Faith V. Leeks, 68, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away on May 8, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Faith V. Leeks was born on January 28, 1958, in Chicago, Illinois, to David C. Williams and Valeria E. (Patton) Williams. She grew up surrounded by family and the values of hard work, kindness, and perseverance that would guide her throughout her life. She attended school in Chicago and graduated from Rogers High School in 1977, in Michigan City, Indiana marking an important milestone in her early years and the beginning of a life shaped by responsibility.

In 1975, Faith married Lorence Leeks, and their union was one that lasted nearly 50 years. Their marriage was built on commitment, shared experiences, and enduring love. Lorence preceded her in death on September 4, 2025, and the bond they shared remained a meaningful part of her life and the lives of those around them. Faith carried herself with grace and strength, and she was known for the warmth she brought to her family and friends.

Faith devoted many years of service to Michigan City Area Schools, where she worked as a bus driver and custodian. She took pride in her work and was respected for her reliability, steady presence, and caring nature. Whether greeting children, helping maintain a safe and welcoming environment, or simply offering a kind word, she made a lasting impression through her daily acts of service. She retired in 1995, having completed her career with dignity and a strong sense of purpose.

Faith found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved cooking, watching cooking shows, and listening to music. These interests reflected her appreciation for comfort, creativity, and the rhythms of everyday living. Her kitchen was a place of care and nourishment, and her love of music added joy to the moments she shared with others. Those who spent time with her will remember her as someone who valued family, tradition, and the happiness found in familiar routines.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories two daughters, Tracey (Melvin) Williams and Paige Leeks; one son, Torrance Leeks; her mother, Valeria E. Williams; eight grandchildren; one sister, Tracey Sneed; two brothers, David J. Williams and Vance Williams; and a loving extended family that includes David Sneed, Robert L. (Beverly) Leeks Sr., Ernie (Violet) Leeks, John (Mary Alviar) Leeks, Carl (Terri) Leeks, Brenda (Bob) Zondor, Emma Cobb, and Doris Leeks, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorence Leeks, and her father, David C. Williams. Her family was the center of her life, and she was deeply loved in return.

Faith V. Leeks will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her devotion to her family, and the steady example she set through her life. She touched many lives with her kindness, her strength, and her quiet determination.
