The Story of a Phenomenal Man
This story of a phenomenal man begins on February 24, 1983 when Dominique Anthony Turner was born in Michigan City, Indiana to Joseph Anthony Turner and Pennelope (Mitchell) Turner. He was the first-born son and therefore the big brother to Patrice and Joshua little brother to LaKisha.
Dominique boarded the train to glory on Monday, February 28, 2022 in Fulton County Georgia.
Dominique grew up in a Christian home where the doctrine of the Baptist church shined 365 days a year.
Dominique accepted the extended hand of Christ at the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church under the stewardship of his Uncle BJ Ashley. As a child he loved helping serve with the youth choir and the Sunday School. Dominique continued to follow the Christian doctrine and followed the scripture that “He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD (Proverbs 18:22)” and he found that in Christa Ross. He married Christa in 2010 and from this union the world was blessed with Braylon and Zekiah.
Education was important to Dominique. A 2002 graduate of Michigan City High School, he excelled in the Autobody and Paint curriculum at the A K Career Center. Dominique was the “Reggie Miller” on the Wolves basketball team. He continued his secondary educational studies at Baker College (Michigan) and Albany State University (Georgia) in Business Management and becoming a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and Rho Pi Alpha at Tuskegee University. Always looking for opportunities for career enhancement Dominique became an AT&T Certified Fiber Optic Specialist, his current employer.
Dominique loved his family, friends and especially his nieces and nephews who affectionately called him Uncle Nique Nique.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife Christa, sons Braylon and Zekiah (Fairburn GA) , parents Joseph and Pennelope Turner, sisters LaKisha (Scott) Pender and Patrice Turner, brother Joshua Turner, grandparents Florece (Robert) Henderson all of Michigan City, mother-in-law Betty Greene, Plains GA, father-in-law Steven (Arnetha) Jones Sr., Houston TX, uncles Ezzard (Cheryl) Mitchell, Columbia MO, Larry(Melinda) Turner, Bloomington, IL and Artillis Mitchell , aunties Faye Turner, Indianapolis IN, Brenda Turner, Marilyn Cain, Harriet Mitchell, Michigan City and Terri (James) McGlaston, Milwaukee WI. His sister-in-laws Nekoma Ross, Fairburn GA and Nicole (Damion) Knowles, Dallas TX. Brother-in-laws Marcellus (Karnisha) Greene and Steven Jones Jr. both of Houston TX. Special cousin Kevin Mitchell. A host of friends who loved him like a brother and numerous cousins.
Dominique leaves us to join his paternal grandparents, Eugene and Willie Belle Turner, maternal grandfather, Floyd Mitchell and father-in-law, Curtis Greene. Other family members and friends.
Dominique will be greatly missed by all.
