It is with broken hearts and unimaginable pain that we announce the passing of our beloved Devin Porter, who gained his wings on May 15, 2026, at only 14 years old — just days before his birthday.
Born on May 24, 2011, Devin was truly one of a kind, a light in so many lives, and a soul that will never be forgotten.
Devin was more than just a son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend — he was the heart of every room he walked into. He carried a smile that could brighten the darkest days and an energy that made people gravitate toward him instantly.
Anyone who knew Devin knew how much he loved life. He loved dancing, basketball, music, laughing with friends, and making memories with the people he loved most.
Basketball was one of Devin's biggest passions. Watching him on the court was watching him in his element — confident, free, and happy. But beyond sports, Devin was simply a beautiful soul. He had a loving heart, a caring spirit, and a personality that left an unforgettable mark on everyone he met. He was the type of person you could never stay mad at for long because his presence alone brought joy.
The pain of losing him is something his family and loved ones never could have prepared for. No words can truly explain the heartbreak of losing someone so young, so special, and so deeply loved. Although his life on earth was short, the love Devin gave will last forever.
Devin leaves behind a family and community who will miss his laugh, his smile, his voice, his jokes, his dancing, and the love he showed so freely every single day. While our hearts are shattered, we find comfort in knowing his spirit will continue to live on through every memory, every song, every basketball game, and every life he touched.
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Psalm 34:18
