Dennis E. White departed this life on January 21, 2024 in his hometown of Michigan City, Indiana. Born on January 26, 1967, to Charles Ross Sr. and the late Doris (White) Ross,
Dennis, fondly known by his nickname "Duck," by his family and friends. His life was one of vibrant. A proud graduate of Rogers High School.
He was a member of Rock Of Ages Missionary Baptist Church, where he found spiritual nourishment under the guidance of the Late William Eckwood Sr.
Dennis's zest for life was evident in his many interests. He had an unparalleled love for music, often found singing along to his favorite tunes, a pastime that brought him immense joy. An avid sports fan, Dennis was always ready to cheer on his favorite teams, reveling in the camaraderie and excitement of the game. His culinary skills shone brightly when he was cooking on the grill—a place where he created both delicious meals and cherished memories.
Dennis's love for his family knew no bounds. He treasured the moments spent with his grandchildren, each second filled with laughter and love. His loyal dog, Bishop, was a constant companion, and together they enjoyed many adventures. Dennis's joyrides with his homeboys/family Tony and Otis White were legendary, as the trio explored the town with an adventurous spirit.
He leaves behind his two sons, Dennis White Jr., and Deandre White of St. Paul, MN; his father, Charles Ross Sr. of Toledo, OH; his sisters, Stefanie (Terrence) Ellis of Michigan City, IN, and Kimberly Ross of Rochester, MN; his brothers, Lamont (Nicole) Ross of Rochester, MN, Laron Ross of Michigan City, IN, and Charles Ross Jr. of Toledo, OH. Dennis's life was enriched by the love of his partner of many years, Ieshenia Hervey of Michigan City, IN, and he embraced his bonus children, Sarah Falls of Indianapolis, IN, Princess Kelly of Michigan City, IN, Derick (Dana) Rush of LaPorte, IN, Marcus Falls of Lafayette, IN, and Prentiss Hervey of Michigan City, IN, as his own. His eight grandchildren, who were the light of his life. Close Homeboys, Artrell Fletcher and Edward Sanders, among a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends, will forever remember Dennis's laughter, and his adventurous spirit.
Dennis was preceded in death by his mother, Doris (White) Ross; his sister, Desiray A. Robinson; his maternal grandparents, Bryson and Wilma White; his paternal grandparents, Charles Miller, Mary Haynes; his aunts, Linda White, Murlo Cotton, and Mattie Banks; his uncles, Ulyss Washington, Sam White, Robert White, and Steve White; and his cousins, Duane White and Husani Washington. He was also preceded in death by his special mom, Veronica Irvin.
Dennis absence will be felt deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his spirit will continue to inspire those he left behind.
