Bobette Hoover Obituary

Bobette L. Hoover, a beacon of love and joy, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2025, Franciscan Health of Crown Point, Indiana.

Born on May 27, 1968, in Shelby, Indiana, she was a cherished daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Bobette was the beloved daughter of Robert W. Hesh and Althea R. (Tuttle nee) Hesh.

She grew up in a nurturing home, where she learned the values of compassion and generosity that would define her throughout her life. Her formative years were shared with her siblings, and though she was preceded in death by her brothers Robert Mulloy and Martin Mulloy, their memories remained a treasured part of her story.

After graduating from North Newton High School in 1989, Bobette embraced the role of a housewife with grace and dedication. Her home in Shelby, Indiana, was a hub of warmth and care, not just for her family but for all who crossed the threshold. In 2000, she married her soulmate, Elick Hoover, in a beautiful ceremony held in the front yard of her home, surrounded by those she loved most.

Bobette's life was enriched by the birth of her daughter, Jennifer (Williams) Hoover-Simmons, who brought immeasurable joy and purpose to her days. She was a grandmother to four grandchildren: Nevaeh Hoover, Lillianna Hoover, Jesse Hoover, and Victoria Hoover, who were the light of her life. Her love for her family was boundless, and she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, instilling in them the values of love and family that she held so dear. She is survived by her devoted daughter, her adoring grandchildren, and her loving siblings: Patrick (Susan) Mulloy, Patricia McCarty, Kevin Mulloy, and Eric (Kris) Mulloy. Each of them carries a piece of Bobette's spirit and will continue to honor her legacy in their lives. Her special friend, Penny Lewis, along with many relatives, will remember Bobette for her kindness and the joy she brought to their lives.

Bobette's interests were simple yet profound. She found great pleasure in working on puzzles, a hobby that reflected her patience and attention to detail. But above all, her greatest joy was being with her grandchildren, whether it was sharing stories, playing games, or simply being present in their lives. She approached life with a nurturing spirit, always putting others before herself. Her presence was a comfort to many, and her ability to love unconditionally was her greatest gift to the world.

She will be deeply missed by all.
