Bianca S. Dorsey-Cedano, 41, formerly of Gary, Indiana, departed this life on December 8, 2021 at her residence in Michigan City, Indiana.
Funeral Services will be 11am, Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Immanuel Lutheran Church 1237 E. Coolspring Ave, Michigan City, Indiana with Pastor David Solum to give the eulogy. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Gary, Indiana. Viewing will be 10am Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church until the time of service.
Bianca Sherrell Dorsey-Cedano was born January 29, 1980, in Gary, Indiana, to Melvin Dorsey and Gonzella (Palm) Dorsey.
She attended school in Merrillville, Indiana and graduated from Andrean High School in 1998. She furthered her education and obtained several degrees. In 2004, she received an Associate of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. In 2005, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. In 2005, Bianca was accepted in the Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program at Purdue University Calumet, where she successfully completed the Summer Research Internship Program.
Bianca was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Michigan City. She was a God-fearing woman. She had an infectious smile and she enjoyed laughing, telling jokes, cooking, and reading.
Bianca leaves to cherish her precious memories: four children, Jordan Nolan, Selena Marie Cedano, Isabella Nicole Cedano and Robert Cedano; beloved father, Melvin Dorsey; siblings, Tyjuanna Gettis and Anton Dorsey; niece, Cortnie Dorsey, nephew, Cameron Gettis; great nephew, Kylan Ransom; high-school friend, Sherrick Spencer; caregivers, Robin Coley, Denise Simmons and Helen Mitchell and a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Gonzella Dorsey; paternal grandparents, Leroy Dorsey Sr., and Gladys Dorsey; maternal grandparents, John Palm and Marie Palm.
